Having been under the weather (pre-Christmas cold) for the past 10 days, trying to do the end of year campaign wrap up, and attempting to get ready for the Christmas season, I obviously haven't been doing any blogging. And you know what, that's ok. This really is the time of year when who's in, who's out; how much money is coming in or getting spent; or what the polls show or don't show really doesn't make any difference.
Having spent almost a year now either thinking about running, planning on running, and then getting in the race in February, it's nice to take a break from the grind. It's important at this time of year (actually we should be thinking about this the entire year) to remember the blessings we have by living in this country and particularly here in North Carolina. There are problems and challenges but in the greater scheme of things we are truly blessed.
So, to everyone who reads this blog, Merry Christmas. To friends and strangers, supporters and opponents, to conservatives and liberals let's try to remember in the months ahead that how we all conduct ourselves in the course of the upcoming campaign season should be a reflection of the spirit of this season. We can all disagree vehemently but there's no reason for the vicious attacks that often occur. We can do better. We should do better. So carry over the spirit of the Christmas season into the months ahead. And may Santa bring you health and happiness in the coming year.
